On May 11, 2023, the federal public health emergency for the COVID-19 pandemic will end. With this comes the end of the mask mandate. At Middleton Family Medicine, we will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC and the Commonwealth. Effective May 11, our office mask policy for patients will change.
Patients are no longer required to wear masks but are still welcome to do so if it is their preference. Our staff will be encouraged to wear masks, especially if they are engaging in direct patient care, but this will also not be required. Patients will be asked at their visit if they would like their provider to wear a mask. We would also encourage patients with respiratory or sick symptoms to continue to wear a mask, as it will help to keep our patients in common areas safe and will help keep our staff healthy, so we may continue to care for you.
The guidance for patients who test positive for COVID-19 is not changing at this point, so patients who are known to be COVID-19 positive or who test positive at the time of the visit will still be required to wear a mask, which follows the CDC guidance.
We want to thank all of our patients and staff for their patience and understanding during the numerous changes that occurred over the past three years. During such an unprecedented time, it was a collaborative effort to keep all of our patients and staff safe and healthy. We look forward to seeing your smiling faces very soon!
