Car Testing Instructions

Please retain this information for the instructions when you arrive.

For the safety of you and all of our patients, please remain in your vehicle while at our office.

If you have questions prior to this visit, please call 978-774-2555. We look forward to caring for you.

Please remember, if you are tested for Coronavirus due to symptoms, you and your household contacts must remain under quarantine until your result is back. If your test is positive, you and your household contacts must remain under quarantine until cleared by the Department of Public Health.

When you arrive at the office, please pull to the right hand side of the building.

You will see a large yellow sign on the right hand side. This is a sign to remind those who do not have a car testing appointment to stop and call the office. You may proceed.

Drive around behind the building and pull up to the large tent.

Please remain in your car and keep your window closed.

Call 978-206-7981 to alert us you are here and obtain further instructions.

When our tester comes out of the building, you may open your window, but please remain in your car.

  • Once your vehicle is under the tent please remain in your car for the duration of this time.

  • A staff member will confirm your name and date of birth.

  • They will meet you under the tent to collect a swab.

  • Please keep in mind that due to the volume of testing being done, there may be a slight wait for your test.

We try our best to accommodate our patients, but due to the volume of testing, it is imperative that you arrive on time for the car testing. Depending on the testing being done, it can take anywhere from 10-15 minutes for this visit.

  • The COVID-19 swab takes 30 seconds to be performed.

  • Results will be called to you by the end of business that day if a rapid test was performed. Otherwise, testing takes 3-5 days and you’ll receive a call or portal message as soon as the test is available.

  • The Strep, Flu, and RSV sample collection takes a few seconds, with results available the same day. You will receive a call or portal message at the end of the business day.

  • Some lab work will be available within 24 hours, with other tests taking longer to result. You will receive a call or portal message when these results are available.

You may return home after these tests are performed.

Please note: If you arrive past your appointment time, and the next scheduled person has arrived, we have to test that person to keep the flow of traffic moving. You will still be tested, but it may increase your wait time.

Our sample collectors are doing their very best to process the tests as quickly as allowed.

Massachusetts Immunization Information System

The Massachusetts Immunization Information System (MIIS) is a new statewide system to keep track of immunization records for you and your family. These records list the vaccinations (shots) you and your children get to protect against measles, chickenpox, tetanus, and other diseases.

The goal is to make sure that everyone in Massachusetts is up-to-date with their shots and that your records are available when you need them – such as when your child enters school, when you need emergency medical help, or when you change healthcare providers.
